Why and How to Join Us

GCMA Southern Region membership is open to anyone who is a current member of the Golf Club Managers Association (GCMA) .  Click here for a link to the GCMA National Website.  New members are warmly welcomed whether they are new to the golfing industry or have been in post for some time.

The Southern Region covers Oxfordshire, Hampshire, Isle of Wight, Channel Islands, West and part of East Sussex, but GCMA members from outside that area are welcome to join.  Some GCMA members choose to join more than one Local Region. The Annual Subscription for 2016 is £35.

As you can see from the Diary , the Region holds business meetings and golf events.  Sometimes they are combined, and for these events there is typically a morning business meeting with golf in the afternoon.  Golf is not mandatory, but anyone wishing to play golf is expected to attend the business meeting. There is a Southern Region tie which is available from the Regional Manager. Members are encouraged to wear their Regional tie when attending Southern Region business meetings and when representing the Region in matches and competitions.

The agenda for the meeting is available in advance, and usually includes an Open Forum session.   Members have found these forums to be extremely helpful, as they are an excellent opportunity for colleagues to discuss a range of relevant topics:  test the water on any ideas they may have;  learn from others experiences and to have an opportunity to build up a network of useful contacts.

Presentations are made by invited speakers and by members of the Region. Members are welcome to suggest topics they would like to see included on the agenda.
